It’s important to bear in mind what your personal circumstances are and why you are looking at one of these appliances in the first place. Is it because you have a lot of washing up to do but you don;t want to go to the expense of a standard dishwasher? If this is the case then read on and save some money.
If you live in a house with your partner and a couple of children then chances are that you generate a lot of dirty plates, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans in a day. You should understand that a countertop dishwasher is not really designed for this type of situation. Yes, it can save money in the right circumstances but you would need to run the machine constantly to keep up with the dirty crockery and cutlery; providing you have the floor space you would be better off buying a standard model that can do the job once or twice a day. Professional couples who might eat dinner at home and then want to collapse on the sofa in front of the TV can load up a portable countertop dishwasher with a few items and then do just that.
It is true that these mini dishwashers can save money on initial outlay and ongoing costs, when compared to standard model, but they are only really useful in the right situation.
